Riverside, Calif., Aug 26, 2014 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, today introduced its ChipGuard® Automotive MLA Series Varistor ESD Clamp Protectors Model specifically developed to protect sensitive automotive electronics from the threat of ESD up to IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4. Bourns' Model CGA-MLA Series are very fast bidirectional devices that deliver robust overvoltage protection and stable low leakage performance over a wide temperature range. The latest ChipGuard® devices from Bourns also feature multilayered varistor technology, and their proprietary insulating overcoat provides low and stable leakage current, quick response time (<0.5 ns) and high transient current capability. These features and benefits make the new varistor clamp protectors particularly well-suited to meet the ESD protection needs of HDMI, CANbus, Ethernet, sensor and touchscreen interfaces as well as GPS and camera links and other circuits sensitive to ESD.
